Tree Residence by Miró Rivera Architects:

“Early sketches of this personal residence explore the perform among the steep, sloping web site on which it lies and 2 curving rooflines—one concave and 1 convex. At the street front, the concave roof varieties a reduced, unassuming façade that respects the scale of the community and offers privacy for bedrooms and scientific studies. Concurrently, the convex roof shared by the residing, dining, and kitchen spaces opens the interior of the residence to a canopy of oak trees and a tiny pool.

The neighborhood and natural resources of the exterior wrap into the interior of the property stone walls and dark wood floors are contrasted by clean lines and glass above, making the feeling of lightness. Massive glass windows and sliding doors take complete advantage of the sweeping views of downtown Austin, dissolving the boundaries among interior and exterior, although deep overhangs frame views of the sky over.”
