Completed in 2013, this modern day house is located at the edge of a big pine forest in Seignosse, France, and functions a timeless Bauhaus-like facade.
Villa Seignosse by Debarre Duplantiers Associés:
“The house is set on the edge of Europe’s largest forest. Pine trees draw an irregular skyline at the horizon of Seignosse, the surfers’ hot-spot in the south west of France.
Dealing with not the sea but a pond on the south, the home contrasts with its surroundings by its orthogonal and white volumes. Open to nature, its facade protects the intimacy of its owners on the street side.
A huge living space gathers an open kitchen and a versatile workplace area, whilst setting a fireplace in the middle of a glazed facade. A big wooden deck extends the interior space to the garden and to the pool. Upstairs, the master bedroom enjoys a 360° view, with a south terrasse and a huge bathroom.
Bauhaus like facades freeze its architecture in a timeless zone. This sound and classy architectural vocabulary could assist facing the ever shifting nature, from surfing waves to green pine trees.”
