The Podil Loft Apartment by Sergey Makhno:

“Loft aesthetics appeared to be the ideal answer for this apartment found in a historical constructing in the city’s old industrial district named Podil. After getting rid of a gypsum plaster layer, an old brickwork with striking metal channel bars was exposed. The finds have been restored, covered with protective polish and left unaltered to serve as real decor components. Ordinary white plaster, decorative concrete panels and wooden planks had been also employed to decorate the place. The floor was covered with textured reliable toned oak.

Following modern trends, the designer team determined to turn the spot into a spacious guest area with a living space, a kitchen and a dining area, backed by a children’s space and a separated ensuite bedroom with a big balcony, which homes a bathroom and a tiny makeshift research.

Makhno Workshop original objects share the room with modern traditional furnishings by Minotti, whilst industrial lighting alternates with designer fixtures. 1 of the special objects peppering the area is a faux mantelpiece, a concrete replica of a historical piece the proprietor spotted at a Sotheby’s auction.”
