This clean-lined house developed by Naoi Architecture in collaboration with Layout Workplace caught our focus, consequently we decided to share this venture with you, dear readers. Featuring a massive hipped glass roof, the construction was nested in Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan. Inspired by nature and adapted to a present day context, the property attributes only 1 floor and a garage massive sufficient to accommodate 2 cars. The residing area occupies the centre of the property’s open square plan. Infused with natural light, the complete living space exhales warmth and brightness. The social spot can be subdivided by sliding doors when necessary, to add sense of privacy.
Anyhow, the layout favours actually amazing views of the surroundings. A set of stairs prospects the inhabitants to the inner edge of the sloping roof line. “The total south side of the hipped roof is a massive sky window, in which 1 can enjoy lovely views of the sky. On the north side, a single can enjoy views of the trees and sunlight in the backyard below the lower eaves. The huge hipped roof, which is the main design and style function, is constructed of wooden roof girders and rafters to help the basic and symbolic form.”
