Following the streams of sustainable design, the Bay Property is a green residence overlooking the Chesapeake Bay and it represents one of the most intriguing projects made by Gardner Mohr Architects. The old home, created back in the 80′s, needed a significant upgrade. The clientele wished to include a sense of personalized value to their residence, having their very own tips implemented. What they needed, in the first area, was to dwell in a home developed with the principles of sustainability in mind. Secondly, they believed that “a house that breathes” may influence their disposition, so they requested an uncluttered residing environment, decorated with materials, that were specially chosen for a minimal impact on the environment.
“The owner’s sustainability goals had been met by employing passive as properly as energetic techniques. Passive strategies incorporate ventilation, daylighting and shading controls. Water conservation and harvesting are achieved via reduced-flow fixture selection, collection and reuse of rainwater, the infiltration of 100% of the storm water on website, and the building of a “living shoreline” for breeding of aquatic daily life.” Boasting an open prepare floor, the Bay House is elegantly decorated, yet it has minor particulars that stand out. The main target was to capture and frame some of the most amazing views of the bay. There’s also a lovely terrace that comes “attached” to the house, a swimming pool and a wooden deck.
