Mark Frazerhurst Architect completed the design and growth of Motuoapa Home, a present day residence overlooking the shores of Lake Taupo, Waikato, New Zealand. Overlapping planes of numerous tactile components, slatted timber screens to filter sunlight, and a materials palette which will age naturally and climate gracefully all act to complement the normal surroundings and react to the local context.
Here is a lot more from the architects on the inner framework of the residence: “The residing areas and 3 bedrooms are contained on the upper floor, with connections to a large north-west dealing with personal outdoor living deck. The garage, utility places, a sauna & spa space, and a big multipurpose recreational area with connection to an outdoor residing deck are located on the ground floor degree. Exterior components are repeated internally in diverse methods, bringing the outdoors in”. The interior style approach is minimalist, with wood enjoying a key position in generating a warm, residence-like environment. [Photography: Sam Hartnett]
