Finished in 2012, this house is found in Lier, Belgium.
The style of this house displays the story of its inhabitants, in which 2 single properties were mixed to accommodate a developing household.
House LKS by P8 architecten:
“This house was developed for a youthful couple residing in the centre of Lier, Belgium. They were presently living in the home on the corner. With the birth of their baby boy, this home grew to become to little. When the residence up coming door became for sale they did not hesitate and bought it. The present residence was demolished so a plot of 56m2 grew to become available.
On this plot the clients wanted an further living space, a patio, a lounge and a master bedroom.
On the outdoors the new residence shows a sturdy contrast with the present property. The white painted facade deliberately breaks with the classical proportions of the other homes in the street.
On the within it the spaces of the 2 homes connect with every single other fluently.
On the ground floor of the new property there is a small swimming pool. This swimming pool is located between 2 folding windows. In the winter it can be employed as an interior swimming pool, although in the summer the 2 windows can open and it can be utilised as an outside swimming pool.
The vertical backyard offers the patio a green edge.
In collaboration with interior architect Kalle Block all the fixed furniture was designed. This way the 2 houses together truly feel like 1 complete residing idea.”
