“Located south west of Melbourne, this task is nestled behind the Blairgowrie Back Beach on the Mornington Peninsula. The short for the task was to develop added spaces, each within and out, for an ever-increasing extended loved ones who was rapidly outgrowing their present seaside residence. Unpredictable rainfall, scorching western sun and winds off the ocean were all regarded as strongly so that these nearby circumstances did not restrict the use of the new spaces.

Responding to this microclimate, an connected summerhouse is developed as a uniquely adaptable room in that it is interchangeable dependent on the circumstances. While a single side is accessed by means of the primary kitchen, the north and west sides have are inherent of custom-produced cedar bi-fold doors and windows that are fire retardant treated to meet nearby organizing problems. When opened, you are almost lounging and dining amongst the surrounding coastal vegetation. In much less welcoming circumstances, the panels shut tight guarding the interior from sun, wind and rain stretching its use across 365 days a year.

The summerhouse style offers a kitchenette, dining table and booth, a generous U-shaped constructed in lounge and an open fireplace that brings even more flexibility to the room. Spotted Gum, Western Red Cedar and Russian Birch comprehensive a striking timber palette that is complimented by manufactured materials this kind of as porcelain tiles, Caesarstone bench tops, polished concrete paving and seating upholstery.

To the east the summerhouse is permanently open as the erratic climate typically approaches from the west. The open façade frames the adjacent granite paved courtyard and swimming pool, the generous opening allowing unimpeded motion from inside to out. Little ones are in complete see playing on the grass or in the swimming pool and spa, crucial at big gatherings.

A pool compliant curved characteristic wall defines the pool area while offering the spa its special shape, the wall clad in additional extended porcelain finger tiles that meet the benches underwater. With each other with the restrained box like design of the summerhouse, the curve brings a mid-century present day come to feel to the overall undertaking acknowledging, albeit with modern influences, the beach homes of yesteryear.”
