DOMO Arquitetos have designed the Linhares Dias House in Brasilia, Brazil.
This house is found in a residential location website close to the Paranoa Lake in Brasília. Searching the optimum integration for the social places of the house we determined to place all the plan below a single massive roof. The roof collectively with the 2 side walls forms a “portico” that shades the interiors and element of the exterior spaces of the residence.
The inner spaces are distributed in various positions, both innovative or retreated, alternated with empty spaces that give depth and texture to its volumetric composition. To reinforce the unifying condition of the roof we have clad it internally with normal wood, which is visible from practically all the internal spaces.
The bedrooms positioned in the 2nd floor have been separated by an internal void and connected by a suspended open corridor more than the living room, originating various relations in a double-height ceiling area with views the 2 to the street and to an inner indoor “patio”. The staircase has a strong presence in the main façade, it tasks itself in direction of the street and crosses the primary roof, offering entry to an open space on the roof for sightseeing.
