Property K2 by Pauliny Hovorka Architekti:

“A family members house named K2 was built in the village of Kyncelova close to Banska Bystrica. On the neighbouring site, there is a property known as “Dom Zlomu” which was also created by our studio. The K2 House is occupied by an elderly couple while the neighbouring home which was built earlier is occupied by their young children and grandchildren. A number of generations can as a result get pleasure from privacy of their very own residing room while sharing typical external regions. Whilst developing the K2 House, the aim was not to develop a supplement to an earlier developed construction but a entirely-fledged property with an independent and tailored idea.

When developing K2, we considered the shape of the terrain and owners’ requirements and decided for a spatial idea of the development rising in the terrain, in the route from the street to the backyard. This concept is reflected in the interior layout with 2 one particular-flight staircases which bridge the difference in elevation between the street side entrance location and the backyard portion of the whole lot, forming 3 independent levels. Stair flights are obviously expressed in the outer dynamic form of the constructing creating its untypical type when viewed from the street. The division of the constructing into 3 ranges makes it possible for to meet the client´s requirement to separate thoroughly the study room from the main living region of the property creating it sound-proof and independent as it is often utilised as a guest space.”
