Black Cube by KameleonLab:
“The undertaking demonstrates a ‘total makeover’ of a common polish family residence from 70s of XX century. Clientele have purchased a website with present 2 story small creating and their major aim was to make this home almost twice as huge, while incorporating the old structure of a building and to totally adjust the elevations. At the end of a ‘face lift’ outdated white cube grew to become a ‘Black Cube’.
Existing house was extended in 2 directions, in the direction of garden and west site boundary, reaching extra room for a living room on the ground floor and new dad and mom bed space with wardrobe on 1st floor.
Privacy has been the most critical problem.
The website is positioned in urbanized city zone in residential spot of high density, the place achieving privacy, so important for consumers, was main task situation. This was influencing most all layout selections – from internet site strategy to elevation remedy.
Following client want to minimize possible views into the residence type outside, front and side elevations have just a minimal number of openings which was compensated by few skylights and 5 meter height channel glass wall lightning up stairs and hallway.
House layout was reorganized to separate distinct zones in really standard mode.
Open strategy on the ground floor is dedicated for entire family members and their close friends, whereas best floor is strictly private with mothers and fathers rooms on one side of a property and youngsters in the other.
Smooth transition from inside to outside room. Terrace as a `in between zone.`
1 of very crucial elements of this venture was to create smooth transition amongst property and landscaped spot. From the garden side steel frame has been developed surrounding terrace and supporting projected ‘bedroom box’. This has designed another area- by some means enclosed but previously in the garden. Steel frame will serve as a construction for timber louvers to maximize privacy and generate shade in summer time months. This ’in between’ zone will serve as a residing space extension, where sliding glass facade make it achievable to connect with outer area nearly seamlessly. Throughout summertime and spring this will be excellent for BBQ, backyard party’s and will serve as little ones playground.
Soon after cautiously browsing for ample elevation remedy architects have made the decision to clad this house with timber painted black, thanks to this reaching very strong, almost ‘graphic’ effect and very same time using environment friendly supplies.
To highlight ‘empty parts’ of the structure (exactly where solid mass is subtracted) – entrance zone and terrace zone, colored and white render was employed rather of timber.”
