Friday Evening Sides

Thursday was but an additional snow storm in the Northeast!
It worked out nicely for me given that I was capable to keep in and cook for the visitors I invited for Friday night Shabbat dinner. I have a few recipes I use again and once again that are super easy and people appear to love–right here are 2 of them.

The first one particular is this baked orzo and vegetable dish.

This recipe is really versatile–you can use a lot more or significantly less greens and substitute any that you’;d like to use.

Orzo and Greens
Serves 6
Half a box of orzo pasta
Chopped greens (I employed mushrooms, zucchini, one onion and frozen peas)
Half a stick of Earth Stability margarine
4 tablespoons dry onion soup mix (or to taste)

1. Cook the orzo, drain, then combine with Earth Balance and onion soup mix to taste.
2. Saute the veggies in 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
3. Add greens to orzo, toss, then bake at 350 degrees for thirty minutes.

Here is an additional super effortless but fantastic salad that usually gets compliments

Well being Salad
Serves 6
Salad:
2 carrots peeled and sliced
2 cucumbers, peeled and sliced
1/2 red bell pepper seeded and thinly sliced
1/2 green bell pepper seeded and thinly sliced
one/2 head green cabbage coarsely shredded
Dressing:
one/4 cup vegetable oil
one/4 cup white vinegar
1/4 cup honey
1/2 teaspoon salt

one. In a huge bowl, mix the carrots, cucumbers, peppers, and cabbage.
2. Put together the dressing in a bowl and pour above salad. Allow to marinate at least one/2 hour.
