Hay, Magis, Flos, Fritz Hansen, Alessi, Boss Design and Tom Dixon. What do the firms have in typical? This week they head to China for the launch of  Design Shanghai. The event will be held at Shanghai Exhibition Centre from 27 February to 2 March. A lot more than 150 world-renowned style brands will be presented to the Chinese audience, 90% of which have never been observed just before in China

Based mostly on the notion of Layout Shanghai 2014 ‘West Meets East’, the lead inventive of a dragon has been unveiled. Jaguar brings Wallpaper* Handmade to China for the first time at Layout Shanghai. The experimental show celebrates contemporary design and craft using cutting-edge techniques. Riding high on the success of the Milan, London and Miami tour creations by 5 established designers including Fredrikson Stallard, Moritz Waldemeyer, Mathieu Gustafsson, Neri & Hu and Salvatori will be on display.

An substantial seminar programme of prolific Western and Eastern designers, meeting for the first time to talk about the long term of design. The most recent speakers contain Isle Crawford (appropriate), Michael Younger, John Makepeace, Lyndon Neri, Rossana Hu and many much more.

Joining the show’s advisory panel to co-spearhead the event are Ross Urwin, former Imaginative Director at Lane Crawford, and Darrel Best, Co-founder of Infrastructure, alongside Pearl Lam, Philip Dodd, Tao Song, Guangci Qu and Jessie Gu. Ross Urwin commented “I have been travelling between London, Hong Kong and Shanghai for many years. I have witnessed the fast improvement of Shanghai, and I think Shanghai is the greatest place to showcase the world’s leading patterns. Design Shanghai will be the most interesting design event in 2014!”
