Just as we consume our meals in the sukkah for one week commencing tonight, ideally the candles we light for Shabbat and the vacation must also be lit in the sukkah. There’;s only one particular issue: since the sukkah is outside the wind and rains can simply blow out the flames.
Here’;s the remedy: Rather of typical candlesticks, nestle the candles in glass containers.
They will require a filler to maintain them upright and almost something can be utilized–I raided the pantry and came up with black beans, sugar, popcorn and some little rocks from the craft closet.
Or, go with outdated fashioned ball jars…
You can skip the common Shabbat candles and use votives alternatively.
Fill them with sand if you are utilizing standard candles…
You get the notion…the weather’;s been stunning this week so here’;s hoping for tiny or no rain. Chag sameach (Satisfied Holiday)!
